The Complete Leader

The Visionary Leader
(Where there is no vision the followers are exposed or naked and perish)

Edifying Quote:
Proverb 29:18 (AMP)

Where there is no vision (no redemptive revelation of God), the people perish…
Who is a visionary leader?
- Visionary can be associated with such twin words of having vision or foresight, imaginary or illusory, prophetic or revelatory, idealistic or utopian.
- A visionary leader’s horizon or range and limit of knowledge, experience and interest is extensive – they see very far into the future, abilities and inabilities of their members, their potentials, capabilities, strengths, even weakness and are able to manage and harness these for a profitable, productive output.

They create a better state than they met. Visionary leaders build, construct and create a better world and not destroy. Visionary leaders are prophetic builders and this is the demand of the hour in any worthy organization or church. That is what God called Christian leader to be. Are you a visionary Leader? Think again. Where are you leading the flock to? Everyone will be held accountable for whatever responsibility entrusted into his or her care.
- A visionary leader must be able to carry others along in his quest to fulfill a task or reach the goal. A visionary leader follows up words, vision, dreams and lofty ideas burning inside him or her with manifest outward action. Action is their watchword.
They say action speaks louder than words or voice. It is not enough to have these lofty dreams burning inside you but it takes a visionary leader, born or made to produce a visible results. Dreams and visions are great but only when dreams are realized and visions actualized that we can say we have arrived.
- Dreams are free but the conversion to reality, to success and to glory cost a fortune. A visionary leader must bring out the best in his wards. Help them make their dreams come true.
Are you a visionary leader? Then build and rebuild people, activate visions, harness potentials, cause a resurrection of dead dreams, initiate revivals in your team or members.
- I read where Bill Hybels while teaching on ways to lead God’s people cited John Maxwell’s teaching on vision. Read the extract below:
…and he (John Maxwell) started his talk on one side of the sanctuary to symbolize the beginning of the vision.
"You have no money, you have no people, you have no faith, but you have the vision. So you put one foot in front of the other, and you walk by the light of the vision. …" He began to walk across the stage.
“Then, along the way, as you share that vision, God gives you the faith, the power, the people, the resources. …"
- Everyone's eyes were riveted on John as he made this vision walk. But there was a planter between where he was and where he was headed. Inside, I'm screaming, watch out for the planter! John never saw it. He ran into it and stumbled but the vision was so powerful that he never stopped speaking, never lost his trend of thought. I was looking around the crowd, and no one else even seemed to notice!
- That is what a God given vision will do to any serious leader.
“To be realistic today is to be visionary - Hubert Humphrey”
Men with burning vision and corresponding productive actions shaped and they are still reshaping our world today. Visionary leaders were able to transfer or communicate their powers and vision to others. We must focus and draw from these features:
